Children's Remedies

Homeopathic  specific single remedy tablets or liquids are  used  safely during pregnancy, babies, toddlers, and children. These remedies are used by  parents with young children.  Natural remedies are very useful for common complaints like colic, teething, restlessness at bedtime, irritability, fevers,  first-aid treatment for scraps, pain, bruises etc.

Remedies include

• Aethusa

  This is inability to digest milk. Child is anxious, restless and crying. Vomiting in large curds. Regurgitation of food about an hour after eating. Vomiting with great weakness. Useful in cholera infantum. Stools are thin, greenish, undigested, preceded by colic. Body feels cold and covered with clammy sweat.

• Aconite

• Aconite for sudden onset of illness, sudden fright or shock, first signs of illness-the early stages.Indicated in fevers where cold stage is marked. Also in cough, croup, hoarseness, colic, childhood trauma, anxiety. Restlessness is always present.
  
  

• Arnica

  Used as a first aid ! Use immediately following injuries where the skin becomes black and blue. Helpful in Scraps, blows, shock. Helpful also in black eyes, sore muscles, bruises. This remedy should always be taken along on trips and vacations.
  
  

• Belladonna

  Fevers and anxiety. Alternate Redness and paleness of face during fever. Also useful for earache, sunstroke. Specially when the child is restless and crying. Belladonna should be in every home for childhood fevers.
  
  

• Borax

  There is a tendency to salivate and dribble. Sensitive to sudden noises and easily frightened. More liable to get acute digestive upsets.

Baryta Carb - Dwarfish child , mentally as well as physically. The child gets easily tired. Feels Nervous with strangers; scared of being left alone, delayed milestones.  Always has swollen Tonsils and takes cold easily.

Calcarea Carb (Carbonate) Children get ear infections and colds easily after exposure from the cold weather. Milk disagrees. Craving for indigestible things like chalk ,coal, pencil. Also for Eggs. They feel worse after exertion in open air. They have baby fat and perspire about the head during sleep ,so that pillow becomes wet.

Stool and mucous discharges are sour smelling. Worse after midnight and upon waking in the morning. Glands in front of the ears swell. Complain of heat, noises, and a pulsating sensation in the ears.

Calendula

Antiseptic for scraps, abrasions, sunburns. Useful in open wound , superficial burns and scalds.Calendula does not cause any burning unlike use of iodine and other harsh treatments which can further trauma and delay healing.

Chamomilla

Just the right remedy for the peevish, restless ,irritable baby or child. Teething, earaches, irritablity. Colic baby that pulls his legs up and screams, complains, is impatient, and snaps. Keynote is the baby who cries no matter what you do to entertain them. Cannot tolerate pain at all. Diarrhea during Dentition. 

• Calms

  Helps to relax a restless child.
  
  

• Bedwetting

  For children still suffering from bedwetting or just starting to suffer with occasional bedwetting due to stress, etc.
  
  

• Teething

  Calms a peevish child, helps with fever accompanying teething.
  
  

• Colic

  Help for the baby with an immature digestive system. Relief for intestinal distress.
  
  

• Ferrum Phos

  Ferrum Ph is homeopathic iron. Given in 3x doses, increases hemoglobin. Remedy for inflammations, paleness, weakness. Fevers, gradual onset on illness (opposite of Aconite).  In homeopathic form, this mineral goes right into the cells to help with oxygenation. Therefore, this Cell Salt is considered an appropriate addition to any homeopathic treatment concerning infection, inflammation, fatigue, lack of stamina, chronic conditions. Useful in Bronchitis of young children.
  
  

• Hepar Sulphur

  Unhealthy skin, sore throats, hoarseness, croupy coughs, colds, abcesses, acne. This remedy helps teen acne. Hepar Sulphur  encourages  suppuration.
  

Cannot bear to be uncovered. Hepar Sulphur also acts upon the respiratory mucous membrane. Indicated in choking cough. Sensation of a clot of mucous or internal swelling when swallowing.

The sensation of something caught in the throat, with the feeling of a splinter in the throat. Person also becomes more sensitive and irritated by touch, etc.

Lycopodium

Indicated in precocious, weakly children. Symptoms are ear congestion and discharge. Symptoms with irritability worse from 4 pm - 8 pm. Noises in the ears.

This child has a sensitive digestive system with bloating, indigestion, gas, constipation. Desires sweet things.

Although they have good appetites and eat more than an average, they do not put on weight.

Pulsatilla 

(Passion Flower) matches the ill child who is extra clingy and whiny. Nervous type.

This child has the changeable symptoms, physically and emotionally. May be happy one minute and very sad the next minute.

Pulsatilla is indicated for earaches with red swollen external ears. Pain is worse at night and in a warm room. Earaches following colds.

The mucous discharge is yellow or yellow-green and bland. Pulsatilla  children gets acute colds in the head. It is a  remedy for both acute and constitutional treatment.

Sulphur

Homeopathic Sulphur is in no relationship with Sulfa drugs and is safe and with side effects. Sulphur is indicated for the earaches with red ears and perspiration. The skin is scaly, unhealthy. Used in pimply eruptions.

Stool and mucous discharges are smelly. Rattling of mucus.

Child complains most when standing, at 11 am, from the warmth of bed, from baths. Irritable child.

Worse on left side. Sensation of blocked ear, worse after blowing the nose with cracking noise in ear.
