Causes

Humans are affected by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
There is another species Mycobacterium Bovis, which affects the animals.

Mostly, all infections are airborne and due to inhalation of the droplet nuclei.


Clinical Features

The signs and symptoms of tuberculosis depends on the involved part of the body. The clinical features are categorized according to the affected parts:

Tuberculosis of the lungs: 

Fever 

Night sweats

Fatigue, 

Weight loss

Loss of appetite.

Cough with sputum production (sometimes mixed with blood)  

Tuberculosis of the spine:

Weakness in the lower limb

Pain in the back

Deformity of the spine

Tuberculosis of the meninges:

Fever 

Vomiting

Fatigue

Headache 

Drowsiness

Tuberculosis of the lymph nodes:

Fever may or may not be present

Glands of the neck are swollen

Signs and symptoms

The signs and symptoms of tuberculosis depend on the organ that is involved.
