BMI: Body-mass index (BMI) is a measurement of body mass based on a person's height. Knowing your BMI can give you an idea of how healthy your weight is, even if you don't know your percent body fat. BMI results should be interpreted with caution, however, since people with extensive muscle mass (athletes and body builders, for example) and pregnant women have increased BMIs that do not, necessarily, increase health risks.
