Snacking between Meals

Orange AideIf you get so hungry between meals, do you snack on biscuits, sandwiches, wadapav? Do you eat when you aren’t hungry? We often eat when we are bored, stressed or feeling alone.

We eat when we are tired, when we are restless or sad, eating to celebrate, etc etc. We need to stop this behavior and ask ourselves if we are really hungry and is our craving to eat comes from real hunger or from another reason. Activities to keep busy instead of eating are great as long as food isn't part of it. Keep a crossword puzzle nearby do some cleaning up that you have been putting off, or distract yourself.
If you do you should carry some nutritious low-fat snacks foods to see you through till your next meal. Have on hand some dried and fresh fruits, crunchy vegetables like carrots and cucumber, soya milk or sugar free juices. Ideally you should have six small meals every day instead of 3 large meals.
