The hospital was established entirely through donations from local citizens, presently has 200 beds, of which 90 beds are in the general wards occupied mainly by patients receiving medical care at a concession or free of charge. The final planned bed strength of 350 in the present campus will be achieved within the next two years.
About 35,000 patients attend the out–patient department every year. Medical camps are held frequently where consultation and treatment are provided free of charge. This service is also extended in the nearby rural areas. A free weekly OPD is conducted in the village of Khanapur. The mother and child health program provides free medical facilities to women and children from local slums and rural areas.
