Scottish Government plans to end the display of cigarettes in shops are being backed by anti–smoking campaigners in Canada.
Public health minister Shona Robison announced the proposal last week as part of new drive to discourage youngsters from smoking.
Michael Perley, the director of the Ontario Campaign for Action on Tobacco, said the proposed new legislation would be of “Great benefit to Scotland’s young” and would also help smokers who were trying to quit.
