“We want to promote preventive care as well as good growth,” said Avinash Khaire, founder of Greenfield Bio Care, the organisation behind the website. “Very often people are not even aware that their garden plants can get infected if they are not taken care of properly,” he added.
Highlighting the concept of Vrikshaayurveda (Ayurveda for trees), he said, “Ayurveda is based on the principles of nature and Vrikshayurveda is based on principles of Ayurveda and nature. They have the same basic principles”.
Khaire holds a masters degree in agricultural geography and pointed that the treatments were low–cost and required common materials found around the house. The philosophy of Ayurveda is based on the theory of the origin of universe from the five elements ‘Akasha’ (space or ether), ‘Vayu’ (air), ‘Aap’ (water), ‘Agni’ or ‘Tejas’ (fire) and ‘Prithvi’ (earth). All objects and living bodies are composed of these elements. Treatment for all ailments keeps this philosophy in mind.
The website, greenfieldbiocare.com, will give free advice about the treatment of plants and how to take care of your home garden.
Greenfield Bio Care was established in 1994 to promote organic farming and ayurvedic plants.
