Apollo Hospitals Install Robotic Rehabilitation Equipment

Corporate Apollo Hospitals today announced installation of high–tech robotic rehabilitation equipment, sourced from Switzerland at a cost of $ one million, in its physicotherapy centre to treat neurological patients with movement disorders.
“The rehabilitation equipment have been sourced from Hocoma, based near Zurich, for use with neurological patients with movement disorders caused by stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis or other neurological diseases and as well as small children with cerebral palsy”, Apollo Hospital Group Managing Director, Ms Preetha Reddy told reporters here.
Claiming that this rehabilitation programme was the first of kind in the country, she said that using the latest in technology, the medical team at Apollo Hospitals would help patients in rehabilitation, as well as their families. She said that patients would be charged between Rs 25,000 and Rs 40,000 depending on their condition.
