Dr Sanjeev Khurd has become the President of Pune Obstetric and Gynaecological Society for the year 2009–10 while Dr Mukta Umarji is the new General Secretary. Dr Anand Shinde is the President elect. Other members of the executive body for this year are: Dr Bharati Dhore Patil and Dr Sunita Tandulwadkar (Vice President), Dr Kishore Pandit (Treasurer), Dr Uma Wankhede (Clinical Secretary), Dr Meenakshi Deshpande (Associate General Secreatray), Dr Girija Wagh (Associate Treasurer) and Dr Meenu Agarwal (Associate Clinical Secretary).
Award for Kambale and Joshi
Authors Uttam Kambale and Milind Joshi have been awarded the Shalini Banhatti and Gopal Banhatti awards respectively. While Kamable won the award for his Nashik Tu Ek Sundar Kavita, Joshi bagged it for his short story compilation Tamachya Talashi. Well–known poet Vitthal Wagh will present the awards on May 6 at 6 pm at Madhavrao Patvardhan Hall in Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad. The award consists of cash, memento and citation.
