Cardiologists can now vouch for more accuracy in performing diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac interventions. Fortis Hospitals launched a new cardiac catheterization laboratory with upgraded electro–physiology systems at their Cunningham Road branch on Friday.
Speaking after inaugurating the lab, police commissioner Shankar Bidari said: "With growing incidence of cardiac disorders, such technologies will indeed help a lot." Bidari also cut a cake to celebrate his birthday at the hospital.
The equipment have been imported from Germany and emit less radiation, thus ensuring safety of patients as well as doctors. "With sharper imaging, angioplasty will become quicker and accurate too. The cath lab will be open 24x7. Technicians and doctors will be available throughout," added Vishal Bali, CEO, Fortis Hospitals.
