World Tuberculosis Day with the theme innovation: to accelerate action against TB was observed on Wednesday. On the occasion, Karnataka State Tuberculosis Association and state health and family welfare department observed felicitated doctors, nurses and others who work towards prevention and control of TB in the state. The event was attended by Dr B Behar, director, Lala Ram Swarup Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, Dr Prahalad Kumar, director, National Tuberculosis institute, E V Ramana Reddy, secretary, health department, and Bharat Lal Meena, BBMP commissioner. A souvenir and a booklet in Kannada to create awareness on the disease was released.
