Patients or their relatives at JJ Hospital, who have to endure long waits in queues just to get a case paper made, may now have a reason to breathe easy. If things go according to plan, JJ Hospital may start a ‘health card’ system for the regular patients.
Almost a month after the hospital started registering patients on the computer system instead of the existing manual filing system, the hospital administration is now thinking about starting the health card system which will enable the regular patients to go to respective doctors for treatment without standing in a never ending queue for making a case paper every time they visit the hospital.
“The plan is still in the conception stage. We will have to get it approved first,” said Dr T P Lahane, dean of JJ Hospital. The card is likely to cost Rs 50, but its validity is yet to be decided, he added.
