Handigarh Nanotechnology will play an important role in healthcare treatment as it can monitor heart functions at cellular level to help physicians in timely diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
Speaking at an "International Conference on Nano-Sensors and Technology (ICNST)" at the Central Scientific Instrumental Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh, the director of Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, Prof K K Talwar said nanotechnology will immensely help the healthcare system.
"Nanotechnology is a field that assimilates technologies and concepts from multiple domains of physics, chemistry, biology and engineering. After assimilating technology and concepts from various scientific field, the nanotechnolgy plays and important role in health care in early diagnosis of disease and drug delivery," he said.
Talwar especially mentioned about the nano delivery drug systems, modern imaging techniques for monitoring heart functions at cellular level to help physicians in timely diagnosis and treatment. He made a point about the importance of innovations and the need of synergy between the researchers and medical professionals to propose effective and affordable healthcare. He further expressed that CSIR-CSIO and PGIMER, Chandigarh could work together in this modern area of nanotechnology.
