The update would be especially designed for interns, general physicians, orthopaedic surgeons, paediatricians and postgraduates. Dr Sushil Gupta, additional professor, department of endocrinology and the organising secretary of the update, said that the delegates would be provided with latest material on clinical diagnosis and management of diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, reproductive endocrinology, osteoporosis, obesity and paediatric endocrinology.
The bone mineral density workshop would deliberate on various issues of osteoporosis which is a very common problem in elderly people and its treatment, Dr Gupta said.
The faculty of the workshop would be mainly from SGPGI and other tertiary care institutes from other parts of country. Delegates from all over India will be participating in the two-day workshop, which will be organised in the telemedicine auditorium and the programmes will be teleconnected to IGH Hospital, Kabul, Afghanistan and Thimpu (Bhutan).
