A doctor’s Marathi movie on the therapy will hit theatres on May 28
To convince the world that homeopathy is one of the top–most sciences, a Pimpri–based homeopathy doctor Amarsinha Nikam has made a Marathi movie Pratisad…The Response.
Based on the real life experience between a doctor and a patient, the two–hour movie is produced by Amar Aditya Production and directed by Yogesh Gosavi.
Dr Nikam has been running his own hospital Aditya Homeopathy at Pimpri for the past 16 years.
Speaking to DNA about the storyline of the movie, Dr Nikam said, "It shows the efforts of a doctor to set up a homeopathy hospital. A husband visits the hospital with his wife as she suffers from brain and spine diseases. Gradually she responds to the treatment but her relatives demand quick response. The patient’s husband becomes frustrated and starts abusing the doctor and accuses him of being a fraud. A police complaint is filed against the doctor. The police inspector, whose wife is a lecturer at a homeopathy college, visits the hospital to probe the matter. The inspector requests his wife to help him in the case. And she posing as a reporter visits the hospital and meets the doctor. Later, she tells her husband that the doctor is innocent and the claims of patient’s relatives are wrong. After some time the patient recovers from the illness."
Dr Nikam said, "People still look down upon homeopathy. There is a need to change the mindset of people. And I have chosen film as a medium to pass this message." Well–known Marathi actor Sandeep Kulkarni plays the role of the doctor. Kishor Kadam and Neelam Shirke are the other cast members.A still from Pratisad…The Response.
