Storm Effect
For those suffering from asthma it is a tough time to cope with it, specially since the city has been witnessing dust storms for the past few days.
Asthma patients going to the city’s government hospitals and private clinics have increased in the last three days. In the last three days, the city witnessed a film of yellow particles which comes along with heavy winds.
Dr Virendra Singh, asthma specialist at Sawai Man Singh hospital said, "The yellow dust particles of storms are dangerous for asthma patients and also for those who have respiratory problems. There has been an increase of 20–25% in the number of asthma patients."
If one experiences breathlessness, wheezing and chest tightness, then a doctor should be immediately consulted as it could be an asthma attack. The doctors also advise such patients to remain indoors during dust storms. "It is better to take precautions and remain away from the dust particles by covering faces or by any other way," said a doctor.
Harish Dulani, an eye specialist said, "In dust storms viral eye infection and allergic conjunctivitis become common. The dust storms have increased such a number of patients in the city."
