We brought her back home and tried various forms of alternative medicine but to no avail. To make matters worse she began to put on a lot of weight and her legs even began to swell occasionally. Moreover, her periods became irregular. I became quite desperate.
I took her to someone who practiced a Japanese therapy called ‘Mahikari’. Her periods returned to normal and Sujata became cheerful. In retrospect, I think we went wrong somewhere as parents. We often compared Sujata unfavorably with her elder sister. That was very unfair. Moreover, our family atmosphere must also have contributed to her problems in the long term.
There are lot of people who suffer from various problems. They become depressed. They think their life is hopeless. The result is tragedy. We never tried to hide our daughter’s problem. If we share our grievances and agonies, they are minimized, that’s what we experienced. Also, I believe in prayers. Now, no negative thoughts linger in my mind. Everybody has problems in life. But, if one is ready and prepared to see things as they really are, he can change his mind and thoughts. I would be happy if my daughter’s story could inspire anyone to overcome their depression.
