The basic purpose of this course is to empower every individual with knowledge about healthy living. This should make a person wise enough to take care of one’s own health. We have chosen the best from the eastern wisdom and western science to make it complete. The basic philosophy is based upon the age old wisdom of Ayurveda.
Ayurveda is the most ancient and advanced system of medicine originated in India. The roots of Ayurveda can be traced back to thousands of years. Unfortunately the system which was looked upon as the best available therapeutic system for last thousands of years was somehow sidelined due to various reasons. Ayurveda’s approach, “Prevention is better than Cure”, is the need of the times.
We are aware that our hectic lifestyles pose potential hazards to our individual health and the health of our society. Many new diseases can be prevented by observing the principles of Ayurveda. Today almost every one of us needs a strong body and mind to help us live happily. Various new systems of medicine have emerged in the last few years, but as we all know the disadvantages are more than the advantages.
Considering today’s life, we must take the responsibility of our own health by understanding the natural laws of health explained in Ayurveda, and by using simple herbal remedies to prevent common illnesses.
To achieve the above, we must understand Ayurveda with its principles, food habits, life style, daily and seasonal routine, herbal remedies etc. We must understand the holistic style of living described in Ayurveda and to inculcate it in our daily lifestyle. It is a known fact that even a small change in our lifestyle can make a big difference in an individual’s health status. The day to day complaints just vanish away, leading to a healthy body and mind. The requirement of other medicines too is reduced day by day.
