Amoebic dysentery (amoebiasis) is an infection of the intestine (gut) caused by an amoeba called Entamoeba histolytica, which, among other things, can cause severe diarrhoea. Amoebae are parasites that are found in contaminated food or drink. They enter the body through the mouth when the contaminated food or drink is swallowed. The amoebae are then able to move through the digestive system and take up residence in the intestine and cause an infection.
Before Amoebic Dysentery got involved in community service, they were enrolled in a junior school for specials from where they had released their genre–coining album Mongoloid Metal. It was an excursion into the mind of the retarded, playing 38 stunted yet blistering tracks of grind interspersed with refreshing juvenile samples which made one stand up and clap excitedly like a keyed up toy holding a pair of cymbals.
The symptoms of Amoebic Dysentery may be very vague and minimal particularly for those who live in a temperate climate. The attacks are usually intermittent with diarrhea and constipation, increased flatulance and abdominal cramps. The abdomen may be tender to touch and stools may contain mucus and blood.
Amoebic dysentery mainly caused by Endamoeba histolytica which is associated with blood in the feces. It is the infection of the large intestine, sometimes involving the liver. It causes diarrhoea among other symptoms. Amoebae are parasites that are found in contaminated food or drink. They enter the body through the mouth when the contaminated food or drink is swallowed. It is a disease in which inflammation of the intestines affect the body significantly. Amoebic dysentery is passed on by careless or negligent hygiene where contaminated food and drink is consumed without adequate heat treatment.
Although anyone can have this disease, it is most common in people who live in developing countries that have poor sanitary conditions. In the United States, amoebiasis is most often found in immigrants from developing countries. It also is found in people who have traveled to developing countries and in people who live in institutions that have poor sanitary conditions. It also commonly affects active homosexual men.
